The OJKC (Research Centre for Youth, Church and Culture) conducts research into the religious education, religious development and religious communication of children and adolescents. Research is conducted into in different protestant contexts related to the religious environment and the family, such as catechism, events, celebrations, and religious upbringing at home. The interwovenness of these concepts with modern society is an important point of interest.

Our time demands a contemporary contemplation of how children and adolescents come into contact with the Christian faith. How do parents and educationalists bring religious communication into practice? How does the living environment influence religious development? What are the contemporary characteristics of religious upbringing? For parents and educationalists at home, at school or in church, great challenges lie ahead to interest new generations in the Christian faith.

The OJKC is an academic research centre of the PThU (Protestant Theological University). Research may be conducted in cooperation with professional institutes.
